Early Arrival – Cedar Waxwing, Tylee Marsh

Along the quiet edge of the Rivière des Mille Îles lies a patch of marshland that changes with each passing season. Spring is especially dynamic—still bare of blossoms or berries, but full of promise.

It’s during this subtle phase of the season that a small flock of Cedar Waxwings made a brief appearance. Drawn not by fruit, but by the first insects and tender buds, they brought unexpected colour to an otherwise muted scene.

This image captures one of those early visitors—sleek, poised, and vibrant against the soft grey bark. A reminder that even in early spring, life stirs and beauty arrives quietly, without fanfare.
